Library customers will have inviting and user-friendly virtual spaces in order to enjoy individual pursuits, express themselves, and interact with others.
Activities:
- Investigate website enhancements and implement recommendations.
[Web Team] - Investigate improvements to Web catalog—interactive features, etc.
[Systems Administrator and Virtual Reference Specialist] - Implement online social networking opportunities—blogging, wikis, etc.
[Systems Administrator and Virtual Reference Specialist] - Develop a standing committee to keep abreast of technology trends and
opportunities and make recommendations for implementation. [Director] - Improve technology access in study rooms. [Systems Administrator]
- Create and maintain a list of computer training opportunities in the
community. [Information Services Work Group] - Evaluate core technology competency requirements for all staff positions and develop and implement a training program. [Supervisors Team]
Measures of Success:
- After an initial baseline has been established, the length of time visitors
spend in a session on the library’s web site will increase annually. - After initial training, all staff will meet core competency technology standards for their positions.
