This ad appeared in the 1894 Iowa State Bomb (yearbook of Iowa State College). Dr. Hunt came to Ames in the 1870s. He studied dentistry with first dentist in Ames, Dr. Andre. He acquired his practice by becoming Andre's apprentice. Then he bought the practice from Andre. Hunt built the house at Douglas which would later become the Ames Hotel. Dr. Hunt, who died in about 1919, practiced dentistry on the first floor of his residence on corner of Fifth and Douglas.

Copy of ad for George G. Tilden Estate. Tilden Store was known as the George G. Tilden Store prior to his death in 1892. For a period of a year or more after his death, the store was called George G. Tilden Estate; then called Tilden Bros. and Company; then the Tilden Store Company until it closed in 1971. Ad is from 1894 Iowa State College yearbook (The Bomb).

Ad for Adams Bros. Grocery located on southwest corner of Kellogg and Onondaga (Main) Street. James Winfield Adams and M. Jay Adams were the eponymous brothers. Store operated between 1891 and 1911. M. Jay Adams subsequently engaged in the furniture business and founded the Adams Funeral Home (still in operation [1991] at corner of Fifth and Douglas). Ad is from 1894 Bomb (Iowa State College yearbook).

Ad for G. D. Lous, a pioneer furniture retailer and undertaker, whose establishment was located on the north side of Onondaga (Main) Street. Loud was succeeded by M. Jay Adams. Ad is from 1894 Bomb (yearbook of Iowa State college).
