Engineering students from Iowa State College march toward downtown Ames in 1910 or 1911 on St. Patrick's Day. Note the streetcar tracks. The steam line had been converted to the electric cars in 1907 and continued to operate across central campus until 1916. The line of marchers is passing eastward near the horse barn about a block to the east of the Farm House on the Iowa State campus.
