L. C. (Grandpa) Allen frequently dropped by at the Frank and Bell (Selby) Allen dairy farm on north Duff Avenue for a visit. Belle Selby was one of the first women to work as a clerk in the stores on Onondaga (Main) Street. She worked at Tilden's store in 1895.
