Ames's American Legion Chorus around 1950. The group includes Clarence H. Covault, a professor of veterinary science at Iowa State College from 1919-1970; Seaman A. Knapp (third row, fifth from the left), who was a well known Ames businessman (banking and insurance); and Dale N. Polhemus, who is listed as a beekeeper in the 1949 Ames City Directory. Unfortunately, others in the picture are not identified and the positions in the photograph of Dr. Covault and Mr. Polhemus are not named.
