The Ames and College Railway, known as the "Dinkey," taken between 1900 and 1907. Photo from the "DesMoines Register" Photogravure section. "For a nickel a passenger, this donkey engine pulled cars between the town of Ames and Iowa State College."

Dinkey steam train including all three of its passenger cars. The Dinkey connected the ISC Campus with the town of Ames from 1892 to 1907.

Ames and College Railroad, better known as the Dinkey, departs from west side of ISC campus building for downtown Ames. The year is about 1900. The Dinkey ran from 1892 until 1907.
