This aerial view of the Chicago & North Western Railroad Depot was taken by Olav Smedal's Valco Feature Service in about 1952. This was after the City of Ames had purchased a portion of the depot grounds for parking. Note that there was no Clark Avenue rail crossing until 1971. Houses along the north side of Main Street have since been replaced by commercial structures.
