Both men were active in the Ames Heritage Association during the time the group made an effort to have the City of Ames name the street after the internationally famous evangelist Billy Sunday. Billy Sunday Drive leads to the Cory Family Cemetery/Billy Sunday Birthplace, the preservation of which was a project of the Ames Heritage Association.
