166.927.1-2
Mayor Larry Curtis speaks at the ribbon cutting, early in 1994, which marked the re-dedication of the Chicago & North Western Railroad depot in Ames. After passenger trains no longer came through Ames, the depot was used to house City of Ames offices (notably, Parks and Recreation) until those offices relocated to the new city hall at 515 Clark and the Parks and Recreation building at 1500 Gateway Hills Drive. In 1994, the city sold the property to Hubbell Realty of Des Moines to restore and develop as Main Street Station.
