Close-up of part of panorama (63.320.1-2; 63.321.1-4) showing old Ames High School -- the 1900 addition to the original building which was constructed in 1891-92. More additions to the north (right) can be seen. At this time this building was known as Central School and was an elementary school. North addition housed special education classes. This entire structure was razed in 1937 so that new high school could be built on site.
