Ames High School, taken around 1939 or 1940, shortly after it was first occupied. This building was converted into the Ames City Hall which opened in 1990. Located on the west side of Clark Avenue (515); was built by Ben Cole and Sons Contractors.

This building, built in 1912, on the east side of Clark Avenue between 5th and 6th streets, was the high school until 1939, when the new building opened across the street to the west. The east building was used as a grade school and junior high until its demolition in August, 1981.
