Stone on the grave of Alfred McFadden who was the first editor of the first Ames newspaper, "The Intellegencer." McFadden died on January 7, 1876, at the age of 51 years, 2 months, 23 days, which means his birth year was 1824. His grave is in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
