Itsy Bitsy Spider Rap

The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again

The spider climbed up the pipe when it was dry
There wasn’t one puffy cloud in the sky
Then the clouds came and the water poured
And the spider came out on a tiny surfboard

This happens in the cycle‐ a normal rotation
Don’t worry boys and girls; we’ll give an explanation
Let’s talk about the water that you always drink
You know, the water that comes out of your sink

It’s been here for years, years galore!
It’s passed through the bodies of birds and dinosaurs
Wow! Are you serious? Can this really be?
I might be drinkin’ water that was dinosaur pee? (Ew, that’s gross!)

Ha ha! Don’t worry; the hydrologic cycle gets it clean in a hurry
It evaporates in the sky, purifies, then precipitates right back on you and I

The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again

Everything alive uses water you see
Bacteria, fish, elephants, you and me!
It comes out our bodies and hits the ground
Then the hydrologic cycle goes another round

See, when water dries that’s evaporation
Water vapors cool and that’s condensation
The cool water falls and that’s precipitation
Ooh baby it’s rainin’, Oh what a sensation!

Precipitation happens and it never stops
It’s in the puddles, the floods, and every raindrop
Then out comes the sun heating up all the water
It turns to vapor, as the water gets hotter

It cools down in the sky, meets with dust
Then the clouds, like cotton, form a blanket over us
The clouds turn grey, the rain falls my friend
And the hydrologic cycle starts all over again

The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again

It’s rainin,’ rainin’
(Ooh baby) It’s rainin,’ rainin’

It’s rainin,’ rainin’
(Ooh baby) It’s rainin,’ rainin’

It’s rainin,’ rainin,’
(Ooh baby) It’s rainin,’ rainin’

It’s rainin,’ rainin’
(Ooh baby) It’s rainin,’ rainin’…rainin’!

The itsy bitsy spider went up the waterspout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.
