
Ames Public Library 2008 Family Summer Program

Let’s get buggy at the Ames Public Library and Bookmobile this summer! We’ll explore the amazing world of insects through stories, music, crafts, films, and more. All programs are free and no registration is required. Call us at 239-5644 for more information.
Baby Talk / Toddler Time / Family Storytime / Grades 1-3 / Grades 4 and Up / Family Night / Friday Features (movies) / Bookmobile Storytimes / Russian Storytime / Read to Rover
Join us for this 15 minute program for pre-walkers (newborn to around a year old) and their caregivers. Each program will feature various emergent literacy skills.

Join Dewey Bear and Youth Services staff for 20 minutes of action rhymes, songs, sign language, and books. This program is perfect for 3-year-olds or younger accompanied by an adult.

This is the same as Family Storytime but with a twist. Bring your sack lunch and follow the ants to the Library for an indoor picnic. Suitable for all ages.

The Ames Public Library will partner with therapy-trained dogs and their owners for a third year to bring you more Read to Rover programs. After spending 15 minutes reading his/her book to this specially trained dog, your child will become a more confident reader. They’ll have a “pawsitively” good time. Registration is required, so please call 239-5644.
