Thank you for your interest in making a donation to Ames Public Library.
Book Donations
Ames Public Library welcomes your donated books, audio books, movies, music, and magazines. Your donation will be added to the Library's collection or sold at the Friends of the Ames Public Library book sales or Literary Grounds to help enhance our programs and services.

General Donations
Monetary contributions from individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations help the Library maintain and expand collections, services, and programs.
Donors may suggest a particular subject area or format for purchase, or give an unspecified donation to be used in areas of existing need and in accordance with the selection policy of the Library. Although any size donation is always welcome, the minimum amount recommended for a single purchase is $20. When possible, a special donor plate will be place on purchased items.
Commemorative Donations
Gifts
Celebrate friends and relatives, their birthdays, or other special occasions by making a donation. The Library has a specially printed gift enclosure which you may present to the recipient.
Memorials
Make a memorial donation in honor of a friend, relative, or valued member of the community. The Library will send an acknowledgement to the family of the individual you are honoring.
How to Make a Donation
- Print and fill out the Donation Form.
- Make a check out to "Ames Public Library."
- Bring the completed form and check to the Information desk or mail to:
