In a private clinic, Barco and Benigno find friendship while caring for comatose women.

Tango (DVD FOREIGN TAN)  115 min.  1998. 

Director Mario Suarez's quest is to make the ultimate tango film. His wife – one of the film’s stars - has left him. He seeks themes to hold the film together, while also allowing freedom of expression to satisfy the tango-hungry Argentineans. Complications arise when Mario falls in love with a dancer who is the girlfriend of Angelo Larroca, an investor in the picture. Mario is challenged by his investors when he plans a scene to recreate Argentina's years of political suppression and "disappearances."

A man accidentally finds a time machine and travels back in time, where he is involved in a mystery filled with murders, terror, and another version of himself.

A college graduate wants to be an entertainment writer, but his first job assignment is the daily crime column of a tabloid newspaper.

Todo el Poder (DVD FOREIGN TOD)  102 min.  1999. 

This film is a comedy about crime in Mexico City and its effects on the city's inhabitants. A filmmaker finds himself the victim of crime and violence as frequently as three times a day.

El Topo (DVD FOREIGN TOP)  124 min.  1970. 

After discovering a massacre, gunslinger El Topo tracks down the villains and murders them all. A young woman is grateful to be released from bondage and agrees to ride with El Topo, who is eventually double-crossed and left for dead among a group of deformed freaks. He helps build a tunnel between the cave and the town, unaware that the villagers shunned these lost souls and will do anything to keep them away.

Unconscious (DVD FOREIGN UNC)  109 min.  2004. 

Set in early 1900 Barcelona. A very pregnant Alma searches for her missing psychiatrist husband. She recruits her love-struck brother-in-law and discovers a world where gender-bending psychoanalysis turns the roles of sex and sexuality inside out.

Undertow (DVD FOREIGN UND)  100 min.  2009. 

Miguel, a respected Peruvian fisherman, is expecting his first child with his wife, Mariela. Their peaceful life is threatened by Miguel's love for Santiago, a visiting artist who is viewed as a threat by the villagers. When a fatal accident befalls the community, Miguel is faced with hiding his true feelings or coming to terms with who he is and risk losing everything, including those he loves.

The Violin (DVD FOREIGN VIO)  98 min.  2006. 

In rural Mexico, during the 1970’s peasant revolts, Plutarco, his son Genaro and grandson Lucio lead double lives. On the one hand, they are simple country musicians, and on the other they support the peasant guerrilla movement against the government. When the army occupies the village, the rebels flee and leave their ammunition behind. Plutarco has a plan: to pose as a violinist and recover the munitions hidden in his cornfield.

Novice nun Viridiana does her best to maintain her Catholic principles, but her lecherous uncle and an assemblage of paupers force her to confront the limits of her idealism.

Viva Cuba (DVD FOREIGN VIV)  80 min.  2006. 

In a tale akin to "Romeo and Juliet," the friendship between two children is threatened by their parents. Malú’s single mother, from an upper-class family, does not want her to play with Jorgito. Jorgito's mother, a poor socialist, places similar restrictions on her son. Neither woman recognizes the strong bond between Malú and Jorgito. When the children learn that Malú's mother plans to leave Cuba, they travel to find Malú's father and persuade him against signing the forms that allow it.

Volver (DVD FOREIGN VOL)  121 min.  2006. 

Raimunda lives in Madrid with her daughter Paula and her drunk husband Paco. Her sister, Sole, is separated and works clandestinely as a hairstylist for women. Years ago, in the sisters’ birth village, they lost their parents in a fire. Their aunt, Paula, continues to speak about her sister Irene, mother of the two sisters, as if she were still alive. When the aunt dies, the past returns (volver).

A rundown bus station in Cuba is the backdrop for romance and miracles in Juan Carlos Tabio's blend of magical realism and social commentary.

What Have I Done to Deserve This? (DVD FOREIGN WHA)  101 min.  1984. 

Gloria is a cleaning lady, hooked on No-Doze, living in a Madrid flat with Antonio, her surly husband, a cabby and forger. One son sells heroin, the other sleeps with men. Her mother-in-law locks up bottled water and cupcakes, selling them to the family. Two alcoholics plot to sell a manuscript as Hitler's memoirs, if Antonio will transcribe it in Hitler's hand. Gloria gives one son to a sex-crazed dentist, and grandma picks up a pet lizard. Can this chaos be tamed?

Who the Hell is Juliette? (DVD FOREIGN WHO)  91 min.  1997. 

The lives and thoughts of some young people in Havana in the 1990s are seen through the making of a film, "The story of Yuliet Ortega & Fabiola Quiroz as filmed by Carlos Marcovich."

The Wind Journeys (DVD FOREIGN WIN)  120 min.  2009. 

Ignacio travels the villages of northern Colombia, playing his accordion, said to have belonged to the devil. He marries and settles in a village. When his wife dies, he vows to never play the accursed accordion again, and embarks on a journey to return the instrument. He is followed by a teenager determined to become his apprentice, but Ignacio discourages him.

The Window (DVD FOREIGN WIN)  77 min.  2008. 

While waiting for his estranged son's visit, eighty-year-old Antonio walks in his fields, reminiscing about his life.

Without a Trace (DVD FOREIGN WIT)  113 min.  2000. 

Two women are on the run: one a dealer in ersatz Mayan relics, the other a mother who has run away from her drug dealer boyfriend to pursue a better life for her two children. The two women form a bond that is tested when a border officer and the boyfriend catch them.

A Woman Without Love (DVD FOREIGN WOM)  91 min.  1952. 

An unhappily married woman has a brief, torrid affair with an engineer, but then refuses to leave her elderly husband. Twenty-five years later, the former lover leaves a fortune to her son, causing an uproar.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (DVD FOREIGN WOM)  89 min.  1988. 

When a woman's lover leaves her, she discovers that the police are looking for her because of his criminal activities. After talking to a female lawyer, she discovers that her lawyer is her old lover's new girlfriend.

XXY (DVD FOREIGN XXY)  91 min.  2008. 

The parents of a 15-year-old hermaphrodite, born with what the doctors call “ambiguous genitalia,” move from Buenos Aires to an isolated cabin outside of Piriápolis, Uruguay, to protect their child from prejudice.

Y Tu Mama Tambian (DVD FOREIGN Y)  100 min.  2001. 

Abandoned by their girlfriends for the summer,teenagers Tenoch and Julio meet Luisa at a wedding. To impress her, they tell Luisa that they are planning a road trip to a beautiful, secret beach. Intrigued with their story, Luisa asks if she can join them. Soon the three are headed out of Mexico City, making their way toward the fictional destination. Seduction, argument, and the contrast of the trio against the harsh realities of the surrounding poverty break out along the way.
