TAG Minutes January 26, 2008
Kelly, Colin, Robbie, Julie
- Re-arranging the APL Zone
- TAG members agreed that moving all of the computers together would be beneficial in reducing the noise and allowing teens to use the computers as they would like (as a social tool) as well as using the computers as a homework tool. Hopefully putting the computers all together right by the APL Zone staff desk will also cause lowered volume.
- TAG members also liked the idea of moving the booth to the middle and making the other end all comfortable seating.
- Colin suggested having the discs for the games on the computers in the teen space available for check out for in library use.
- Tracy will look into splitters for Teen Game Computers
- Help at Half-Price Chocolate Day program
- Everyone will bring chocolate to share – either straight chocolate or in a dessert form. You can bring a recipe, too, if you would like and do a recipe swap as well.
- The Library will supply one desert and chocolate milk.
- Suggestion for using red & white tablecloths
- Colin, Robbie, Kelly, and Julie have all volunteered to help with set up and running of this program. All helpers will be asked to be at the Library at 5:30 pm. Please email Tracy if you want to help. (tbriseno@amespubliclibrary)
- Video Game program
- There was a great deal of discussion about this item. TAG members wish to rent devices to have a program. Top choices for game rentals were DDR Supernova, Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 3, SingStar Rocks, DDR Hottest Party, WiiPlay, and WiiSports
- If extra money exists Rock Band, Mario Party, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl were all listed as highly desirable selections.
- Competition or tournament was decided with free-play after as time allows
- We also discussed the possibilities for a LAN party or LAN capabilities in the teen zone. Tracy will look into these.
- Highly recommended games for LAN play were Age of Empires II, Age of Mythology, and Battle for Middle Earth

TAG minutes 6-21-08
Present: Colin (acting president), Drayke, Logan, Natalie, Molly, Tim
Introductions:
Due to the new members (welcome!!) we all went around and introduced ourselves and told the book we are currently reading.
Election and Constitution:
We discussed the coming election and how to make it work with all our new members.
We decided that due to responsibilities president should have been a member of TAG for 6 months.
We changed it so vice president only has to have been a member for 3-4 months.
All other offices are open to anyone.
We discussed adding back historian to the list. If we have enough candidates we will add it back. Historian will be in charge of taking pictures of events and making sure Tracy posts them to the webpage.
From previous meetings we had changed that the VP/Secretary would send meeting minutes to Tracy to send out to the group (due to changing membership). The VP would also be in charge of talking to new TAG members and explaining about TAG and what we do. Publicity managers are in charge of getting permission from school officials to post posters, communicating any issues with posting to Tracy, posting posters by 1 week before event, and reposting regular events (Roleplaying Club, Game Night, Anime/Manga club) every other month.
Past Programs
We reiterated the importance of promoting programs to people and posting publicity.
We had some ideas about new posting places…
- Neighboring schools – Gilbert, Nevada, Boone
- Crawford for Homeschooling families
- Restaurants/Grocery Stores
We also talked about the importance of someone talking about TAG at the TAG sponsored events. VP will usually be in charge of this.
Suggestion about Anime Festival – perhaps more diversity of movies next time (all were Miyazaki movies this time around)
Upcoming Programs:
- Transformers Movie July 9th 4-6pm – volunteers needed
- Rock the Library Aug 8th 7-9pm – if you know any high school or middle school bands please let them know about this. They can contact me – Tracy Briseño by email – tbriseno@amespubliclibrary.org

- This is the same night as the volunteer overnight – Michael will try to build in coming to Rock the Library as one of the events of the evening!
- We might promote that we are looking for bands in our flyer.
