Ames Pridefest 2020 is ready to #StayInBeOut!

Maggie and Julia will talk about the broad topic of "Giving Thanks” and the importance of support networks, i.e. chosen family, building community, and mutual aid for members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are estranged from loved ones. By talking about support networks, Maggie and Julia hope to reach people that might not consider asking for help, and to demonstrate how validating and empowering building a healthy support community can be. There will be an opportunity for the audience to share thanks for anyone who makes them feel supported, emotionally and/or materially.
