 d opportunities to experience poetry!\r\nCome check out an exhibit entitle
 d “Welcome to Iowa, Letters to Carps and Other Immigrants” as part o
 f the Signal Poetry Festival.\r\nKartika Budhwar&#039;s essay, &quot;Welco
 me to Iowa: Letters to Carps and Other Immigrants&quot; is a series of let
 ter-poems to invasive and non-native plant species in exploration of the i
 mmigrant&#039;s experience in Iowa.  Curator Crystal Stone brought toget
 her several artists to present an immersive and visual representation of f
 ive poems from the work.  Watercolor paintings by Keygan Sands and Jane M
 arie Degeneffe which will be featured alongside the selections.  An immer
 sive avant-garde video featuring Budwar’s prose and poetry and life and 
 an interactive history of immigration in Iowa will both be on display.\r\n
 The exhibit will open during the Signal Poetry Festival’s evening perfor
 mances.\r\nProvided in partnership with Ames Public Library and the Story 
 Theater Company. Supported by the Ames Public Library Friends Foundation.
