Kendrick Wade Brown (July 4, 1842-April 30, 1926), an early settler in Ames, at the age of 22 in September, 1864. He is wearing the sword given to him by the men of his company (Company L, 13th New York Heavy Artillery) during the Civil War. (See also: 222.1275.1-2)
