The new store building that George Galen Tilden constructed in 1883 was in the middle of the same block on the north side of Onondaga (Main) Street as his original store. Tilden's store, however, never occupied this building. Instead, Tilden traded this building for that of his partners, H. C. Huntington and D. A. Bigelow, for their interests in Bigelow, Huntington & Tilden and for the original building; and he stayed in the earlier location. Bigelow & Huntington occupied this building until 1900.
