Rev. George H. Starring was the sixth minister of First Baptist Church in Ames. He served from 1884 to 1886. He is pictured here with his wife and two children, Etta and Georgie. The photograph is from the family album of Margaret Mitchell Brown (1860-1946), the step-grandmother of Farwell T. Brown. Margaret Brown's father, Rev. S. H. Mitchell (1830-1910), was the first minister of First Baptist Church (1870-1875). (See also: 149.822.1-4)
