The Iowa State College central campus, around the turn of the 20th century, looking westerly toward Old Main and Morrill Hall (in the right of the photo). Notice that the trees are not yet full grown. At this time, these two buildings were chief structures on the ISC campus. Main Hall was completed in 1868 with an addition completed in 1873. Morrill was completed in 1891. Main Hall was replaced by Beardshear Hall after its south wing burned in August, 1902 (its north wing burned in December, 1900).
