Children and teacher pose in front of the one-room Ray School, an early area school located across the road of the present-day (2001) entrance to the Ames Country Club on west Twenty-Fourth Street (in Squaw Valley). This school became a part of the Consolidated Gilbert School system in 1917. The school entrance was toward the road.
