Photograph was taken by Harry Farwell Brown in 1905 at a lumber camp owned by the Red River Lumber Company. The camp was near Akeley, Minnesota, and was where Harry Brown collected data for his master's thesis at Iowa State College on the cost of lumbering in Minnesota. Brown was employed for the season as the camp bookkeeper. Professor Louis Hermann Pammel was Harry Brown's thesis advisor.
