Looking north from what was to become the corner of Lincoln Way and Welch toward Beardshear Hall (built in 1906) on Iowa State campus. Delivery wagon in right foreground was owned by A. L. Champlin who had a farm and grocery store near campus. In 1909 the two-story Champlin building was constructed on this corner.
