Water tank in Arlington, Iowa, in northeast Iowa, taken some time before the onset of World War I. It was constructed out of wood with metal bends. This tank was later replaced by a steel tower. Arlington today [2004] is reduced considerably in population from the time when this photograph was taken by Kirk Fox, brother of Rodney Fox, the first secretary of the Ames Heritage Assocation (later, the Ames Historical Society). The Fox brothers grew up in Arlington.
