Olsan's greenhouse, around 1915. F.J. Olsan founded this greenhouse operation in Ames in 1896. The greenhouse was located west of the current Design Building on the Iowa State campus. Olsan opened a florist shop in downtown Ames in 1912. He retired in 1916 and turned the business over to sons Charles and Milo. (See also: 48.238B.1; 48.238B.3)
