Lincoln Way looking east from a point on north side of street near Lynn Avenue before streets were paved in this area. Land was very low in this area. House on the right in this photo was a rooming house and at one time had been used as the Gamma Phi Sorority house. Because of the low land and runoff from creek in times of heavy rainfall, Lynn Avenue in these times was known as "Swamp Street." Second house on right is on the corner of Ash and lincoln Way and stands today (1991). The first house on right is at location where Memorial Lutheran Church stands today.
