The bridge over the Skunk River on Highway 30, immediately to the east of Ames. This bridge was washed out in the flood of June, 1918, and was replaced by another trestle bridge. When a wider and better bridge was built in 1952, that bridge was moved to the area just north of the 40 and 8 cabin, northeast of the Gilbert, Iowa, intersection on Highway 69.
