Dr. David S. Fairchild, ISC physician from about 1879 until 1894 (succeeded by Dr. Harriman). In 1918, Dr. Fairchild left private practice in Ames to become chief surgeon for Chicago & North Western Railroad with his headquarters at Clinton, Iowa.
