Looking north in 1919 on what was then a part of Lincoln Way. Iowa State College's old stadium (at Clyde Williams Field) is seen on the right. Also note the streetcar tracks beside the stadium. This street became Sheldon Avenue in 1929 when Lincoln Way was extended west from what became the corner of Lincoln Way and Sheldon. Sheldon was paved in 1921. It appears here as a gravel road.
