A 1919 postcard photo of the Sheldon-Munn Hotel. In 1915-16, Parley Sheldon and H.L. Munn teamed up to build a much needed new hotel for Ames. The hotel became a social center for both the town and the college. For many years, its banquet rooms, main dining room, and ballroom were in demand. Note the horse and buggy at the Main Street entrance. The post office, built in 1911-1912, can be seen at the right of the photo, north of the Sheldon-Munn on Kellogg.
