Bethesda Lutheran Church on the corner of Kellogg Avenue and Seventh Street. Dedicated in 1928, this was their second location in Ames. This building later became Ascension Lutheran, and Bethesda built a new facility at 1510 Northwestern. Bethesda's first church was a small frame building on the corner of Oak and Second. Kellogg acquired the nickname "Church Street" back in 1885 when there were four churches within two blocks on that street. The Lutherans maintained that record when they moved to this location.
