The house, shown fully in the center of the photograph, stands [2005] on the northwest corner of Ninth Street and Douglas Avenue [905 Douglas] was originally built by George G. Tilden (maternal grandfather of Farwell T. Brown) in the 1890s. The house was remodeled by George's son Galen Tilden in about 1917. From 1958 to 1988, this was the home of Harry and Edna Svec and their children. The house in the right of the photograph [911 Douglas] was built for Galen Tilden and his family in 1904. When he remodeled 905 Douglas, he moved his family there. (See also: 189.1074.1-2)
