"George Shuey and His Orchestra" was one of the most popular dance bands in the early 1930s. The band played Iowa State College dances at the Memorial Union and at fraternities and sororities. George Shuey was a student at ISC, graduating in 1934. He died in 1977 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The members of his orchestra were most likely ISC students as well. (Tom Stewart is identified as the second man on the right; George Shuey is standing at the far left; the other nine band members are unidentified.)
