The Ames Band Shell, or Music Pavillion, was dedicated on June 13, 1935, during the Iowa Bandmasters' annual convention. Thirteen Iowa community bands performed at the dedication. The inscription on this photograph reads: "The Band Shell, City Park, Ames, Iowa".
