An aerial photograph of the downtown area which includes the Chicago & North Western Railroad yards, the Grand Avenue underpass, and left of center, some of the residential area. Photo probably taken in the mid-1950's before Clark Avenue crossed the railroad tracks out of Lincoln Way.The last passenger trains came through Ames in 1960 and the railroad resisted the Clark Crossing until the cessation of passenger service.
