The interior of the Sharp cabin, located to the north and a little to the east of Huxley, Iowa. The cabin was one of the very few log cabins left in Story County at the time of this photograph, which was taken while Margaret Sharp was still alive, perhaps in about 1980. The cabin was built in 1854 by pioneer Andrew Bard. Margaret Sharp, his granddaughter, lived in the cabin from 1901 until her death in 1981. The cabin is gone now [2005]. Some of the contents were used to furnish the Bauge log cabin restoration in McFarland Park (that cabin was destroyed by arson in 2004).
