February 27, 1985, the National Crisis Action Rally held in the Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University. People from more than twenty states jammed the 14,800-seat arena to protest the federal farm policies which had cause the failures of many hundreds of family farming enterprises. The rally was sponsored by the National Farmers Organization.
