Bloomington School, located northeast of Ames in the one-time town of Bloomington, was a one-room school which operated until right after World War II. It was located about a mile from Dayton Road, right where the present National Animal Disease Center is now (2002) located. This photo was taken in 1986 when the roof had collapsed. Inside the school, the photographer could still see writing on the chalkboard attached to the wall.
