The column outside the entry to the Mealey Hotel in Oelwein, Iowa. The reason Farwell Brown took this photograph was because the hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places. The old hotel was renovated and was converted to luxury studio and one-bedroom apartments. He thought this might provide an example for a possible renovation and re-use of Ames's Sheldon-Munn Hotel.
