Taken by Farwell Brown in 1986. Shows the interior of the log cabin, known as the Sharp cabin, located northeast of Huxley, Iowa. In 1986 it was the home of Roy Thomas. The log portion of this cabin dates from 1854. An addition was added on to the log portion in about 1900. The cabin was built by Story County pioneer, Andrew Bard. His granddaughter, Margaret Sharp, lived in the house from 1901 until her death in 1981. Roy Thomas, Margaret's cousin, was living in the cabin when this photograph was taken. The log home was one of two in Story County that remained standing in 1986, the other being the Bauge cabin which was later moved by the Ames Heritage Association to McFarland Park.
