Photograph taken by Farwell Brown of the tumbled- down Bloomington School after it collapsed in 1986, a former one-room schoolhouse once operating in the village of Bloomington, Iowa, northeast of Ames. The village no long exists. Parts of this schoolhouse were used to restore the old Hoggatt School, an Ames one-room schoolhouse which now occupies part of the campus of Meeker Elementary School. The wainscotting in the interior, for example, were used in the Hoggatt restoration. The restoration was an early project of the Ames Heritage Association.
