Shows the original Chicago & North Western train station on Main Street (originally, Onondaga Street) just west of Duff Avenue shortly before it was torn down in May or June of 1989 by Ames city employee Gary Moore. Built in 1865, this was Ames's first railroad depot. It was in service until the second depot was constructed in 1901. Photograph is oriented from east (bottom) to west (top) from the towers of the City of Ames power plant. The old depot is in the left center of the photograph on the left side of the tracks.
