People gathered for the opening of time capsule within the cornerstone of the 1915 Municipal Building (City Hall) on January 24, 1996. Over thirty items were removed from the capsule. The items which represented Ames in 1915 mostly were in very good condition after being buried for over eighty years. The building has been renovated for the use of Youth and Shelter Services, beginning in 1997, and is known as the Jacobson Building (named after Des Moines businessman Richard O. Jacobson who gave Youth & Shelter Services $500,000 as part of their $2 million renovation fundraiser). Those pictured in this photo are Priscilla Matt,
