The caption on the statue of Jack Trice reads, in part: "This statue was erected by the students of Iowa State to memorialize the ideals of ethical competition so embodied in the story of Jack Trice." The sculpture, by Christopher Bennett, was completed in 1987. In the late 1990s, it was moved from its original location on the central campus of Iowa State University to the northeast corner of the Jack Trice Stadium.
