We come together as a group to try to understand the other side's point of view, even if we don't agree with it. In our communities, we engage those we disagree with, looking for common ground and ways to work together. In politics, we support principles that bring us together rather than divide us.
We are trying to communicate the Chili Bowl metaphor of American identity where it strikes the right balance between individuality and commonality. with unique and identifiable ingredients like in a chili. but is still held together with a single sauce. while maintaining their unique identities
