Purpose of Meeting
The purpose of the meeting is to teach students the essential skills for debate, which prepare students for real-life skills that they will carry into their future. The workshop will be a 3-day event featuring interactive activities, slides, and the opportunity to participate in a mini-tournament with their peers. The meeting will provide students with resources to develop skills such as research and public speaking in a safe and fun environment. The workshop will be led by two Ames High Students who are part of the varsity debate team, and have competed in many tournaments across Iowa.
