IA BoS CoC Youth Action Board

The Iowa Balance of State Continuum of Care covers 96 counties in Iowa. Partners and systems of care work together in our CoC to prevent and end homelessness. Our non-profit board oversees the HUD funding of permanent housing programs. The majority of our recipients are programs focused on housing adults 25+. We are trying to get more youth involved so that we can raise awareness for the need of additional youth housing programs across the state of Iowa.

Meeting at the Ames Public Library will give the Youth Action Board (YAB) a neutral space to meet so other youth (14-24) in the community feel welcome to attend. I will work with other agencies in the area to invite youth they work with that have either been homeless or at-risk of losing housing. The YAB is also on board with other youth or adults attending that don't have lived experience but want to help the cause.
